There are two ways to think about missions. One is to focus on the overwhelming need…a world filled with 6.5 billion people. In fact, 1.7 billion people have little or no access to the Gospel. The statistics can be disheartening. But, there’s another way of looking at missions – to focus on how God is working through people. There are more Bible-believing missionaries at work today than every before in the history of the world. More people are coming to Christ each day than ever before. More churches are being planted. And Crossroads of Life is playing an important role in God’s missionary enterprise. The value of just one soul can’t be measured. Jesus looked to people, spoke with them and touched them – one at a time. Jesus brought an individual perspective to humanity; “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36). “I tell you that in the same way there will be rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” (Luke 15:7). The sense of urgency for the un-gathered grain in the field is why the Lord of the harvest returns to the marketplace repeatedly to recruit laborers before the time is done and the opportunity to harvest is over. We must lift up our eyes to the fields that are white unto harvest, because more than 50 million people pass into eternity each year in the world. We must allow the Lord of the harvest to keep our vision fixed on the spiritually lost multitudes who still wait to hear the good news of Jesus. God is at work through Crossroads of Life. We want to praise God for what he is doing through our church in missions and evangelism. We want to pray. We want to give. We want to…Finish His Work! (John 4:34) Dr. Gaylan Claunch
